Don Papa Rye Aged Rum Small Batch is a rare and characterful rum from the Philippines, aged for four years in American rye whiskey barrels at the foot of Mount Kanlaon, on the fertile island of Negros, locally known as Sugarlandia. This distinctive maturation brings together two cultures and results in a bold yet elegant profile.
The rum displays a warm golden to straw-yellow colour and an expressive nose with spicy notes of black pepper, rich salted caramel and rye spice, complemented by aromas of tropical fruit, fresh mint and a subtle hint of cedarwood. On the palate, it is surprisingly dry and velvety smooth, offering a fine balance between spice and gentle sweetness. Flavours of honey, dark fruit and dark chocolate unfold beautifully, supported by a refined oak influence.
The finish is long, warm and delicately spicy, with lingering impressions of dark chocolate and soft spices. Bottled at 45% ABV, this expressive rum is excellent enjoyed neat, yet equally well suited for bold, spirit-forward cocktails.
