La Santa María de la Inmaculada Concepción, or La Santa María, was the largest of the three ships used by Columbus during his first transatlantic expedition in 1492, sponsored by the Spanish monarchy. Cristóbal Santa Maria is a limited edition, premium-quality rum. This amber rum with ruby hues—Cristóbal Santa Maria Bordeaux Premier Crus Classé Cask Finish—was distilled in the Dominican Republic in 2010 using Column Still methods and bottled in 2024 (2,244 bottles total). It was aged for 14 years in tropical conditions, first in American white oak barrels, then for the final 3 years in ex-Bordeaux wine casks.
Nose: Rich, velvety notes of chocolate and freshly brewed coffee, balanced with the juiciness of sweet red grapes and hints of freshly cut oak.
