The Château Figeac Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé 2020 stands among the great wines of Saint-Émilion, celebrated for its unique style combining elegance and power. Figeac is distinctive for its unusually high proportion of Cabernet varieties, giving the wine refined structure and a subtle Left-Bank character.
In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby to purple-black colour. The nose is intense and complex, revealing aromas of cassis, black cherry, and ripe plum, enhanced by floral notes, graphite, tobacco, violets, and delicate spice. On the palate, it is layered and precise, with ultra-fine tannins, vibrant freshness, and an exceptionally long finish.
The blend — approximately 37% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc, and 31% Cabernet Sauvignon — delivers remarkable balance between fruit, tension, and structure. The 2020 vintage is widely regarded as a superb ageing year, with a drinking window extending for decades.
