This 100% Barbera from Piedmont shines with an intense ruby-red color and seduces with aromas of wild plums and chocolate. On the palate, the wine is powerful and vibrant, with fresh fruit and beautifully balanced tannins, resulting in an expressive and harmonious whole.
The wine comes from Cascina Ghercina, a family estate founded in 1871 that has remained faithful to its mission across generations: exclusively estate-grown grapes and uncompromising quality. Since 2002, the family has expanded with 8 hectares of vineyards on the southwest-facing slopes of Barolo, at 360 meters above sea level. The nearby Ghercina River creates a unique microclimate. In addition, the estate boasts an impressive 5,000 m² wine cellar, partly underground, with a capacity of more than 15,000 hectoliters. Beyond Alba, the family also owns vineyards in Langhe, Roero, Asti, Monferrato and Gavi.
This Barbera d’Alba pairs beautifully with grilled or roasted meats, mushroom risotto and characterful cheeses.
