This young red wine from Priorat (2023) is crafted from Garnatxa Negra, Carinyena, Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Garnatxa and Carinyena vines are over 45 years old, while the Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet vines average 30 years of age. All grapes are carefully hand-harvested from terraces in Gratallops, El Lloar, La Vilella Baixa, and La Vilella Alta. After harvest, alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by immediate bottling to preserve the wine’s freshness.
In the glass, it shows a ruby-red color with garnet hues. The nose is initially a little closed but reveals fresh aromas of red cherries, raspberries, and floral notes. On the palate, it is elegant and structured, with complexity that never overshadows the vibrant red fruit character. Juicy, balanced, and refreshing – a pure expression of Priorat.
Already delightful to drink now, but it will continue to develop beautifully over the next 3 to 5 years.
