Crudabendita Gran Reserva 2020 is an impressive and refined red wine from Ribera del Duero, crafted entirely from Tempranillo. The grapes come from vines over 70 years old, grown in high-altitude vineyards between 800 and 900 metres above sea level. They are harvested by hand and undergo meticulous selection.
Following vinification, the wine undergoes an exceptionally long and carefully structured oak ageing process. It spends 13 months in new 225-litre French oak barrels, followed by 25 months in second-year 225-litre American oak barrels, for a total of 38 months in oak. It is then aged for at least two additional years in bottle before release.
The nose is intense and layered, revealing aromas of crushed raspberry, lavender, rosemary and violet, complemented by refined notes of smoke and coffee. Extended ageing adds depth and complexity while preserving the wine's expressive fruit and floral character.
On the palate, it is powerful and remarkably rounded, with a distinctly velvety texture. Ripe red berries, fine minerality and beautifully integrated oak create impressive depth and balance. The finish is exceptionally long, elegant and surprisingly fresh.
A prestigious Ribera del Duero Gran Reserva in which old vines, extended oak ageing and bottle maturation come together to create a complex, elegant and beautifully harmonious wine.
Food pairing: filet mignon, roasted lamb, beef Wellington, Iberian Bellota ham, slow-cooked beef, game and mature cheeses.
