A surprisingly elegant Viognier from Azerbaijan, originating from the Savalan Valley near Gabala, at the foothills of the impressive Caucasus Mountains. Sunny days and cooler nights create ideal conditions for aromatic grapes with beautiful freshness and expression.
The Savalan Viognier 2024 has a light straw-yellow colour with subtle golden highlights. The nose is wonderfully aromatic, revealing notes of ripe pear, apricot and white flowers, complemented by a delicate touch of honey. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and smooth, yet pleasantly fresh. Ripe yellow and white fruit, floral nuances and a delicate hint of bitterness in the finish provide balance and character.
Made from 100% Viognier, the grapes are fermented without skin contact for 10 to 12 days at a maximum temperature of 16°C. The wine then matures in stainless-steel tanks, preserving the pure fruity and floral character of the Viognier grape.
Food pairing: delicious as an aperitif and an excellent companion to langoustines, shellfish, foie gras, mushroom risotto, vegetarian pasta and chicken dishes. Serve at 10–12°C.
