The Laurent Douchy Chardonnay Réserve is an elegant white wine from the Languedoc region in France, made from 100% Chardonnay grapes.
After fermentation, the wine matures for around nine months in French oak barrels, half of which are new oak.
This gives the wine a rich, complex structure and a subtle touch of oak.
In the glass, this Chardonnay has a golden yellow colour.
The nose is expressive, offering a mix of buttery notes, citrus, pineapple and stone fruits.
On the palate, these return with a full, creamy texture and ripe exotic fruit tones.
The barrel aging adds a smooth, slightly oily finish with a hint of vanilla.
Thanks to its rich and balanced character, this wine pairs excellently with dishes like turbot, grilled veal chops with mushrooms, pumpkin tortellini, cheddar cheese, and even steak béarnaise.
The Laurent Douchy Chardonnay Réserve offers great value for money and is a fine alternative to more expensive white Burgundies such as Meursault.
Since 1995, Laurent Douchy wines have been produced in Douzens, between Narbonne and Carcassonne.
